Yesterday, Jamie and I spent the day with the Junior Youth Group at church. It was a service event for the group, and we went door-to-door hanging fliers with Christmas service times. Afterwards, we played games in the gym and the activities room. It was a nice break from the rest of the week, but it was a little tiring too.
Jamie measures 39.5" this week. Minnie woke up from her nap and wanted to join her mom for the picture.
Check back often...we'll try to update with pictures and what's going on with us!!

22 Weeks
Jamie and I finished the majority of our Christmas shopping this week. And, as I type, Jamie is busy baking Christmas cookies. I occasionally help out by taste-testing.
Jamie's belly still measures 38.5". The baby has been very active this week. Apparently, the baby is not only kicking and punching, but also pinching his/her mother!

20 Week Ultrasound
We went in for our 20-week ultrasound this morning. Jamie came in with a full bladder after drinking 40 ounces of water one hour before the appointment. (Drinking this much water helps with some measurements of the baby's organs.) Everything looked great during our appointment. We watched the baby for about 90 minutes as measurements were taken of each of the bones and organs. The baby had a healthy heart beat of 153 beats/min, weighed 12 ounces, and he/she is about 8 inches long. We didn't find out the sex of the baby, although the mother claims to have seen something during the ultrasound :).
In this picture, you can see a side view of the baby's head looking up.
In the next two pictures, you can see the baby's leg and one of his/her feet that the mother claims to be kicking her.
These next pictures show 3D images of the baby's face. You can see a nice smile in the second image, and, in the last, you can see the baby cover his/her ear with a little arm.

20 Weeks
It was a busy weekend for the family. On Wednesday, we traveled down to Brown Deer with Minnie and had Thanksgiving dinner with Brian's parents and brothers and visited his grandma. After Brown Deer, we drove back to Appleton and dropped off Minnie on Friday. She has become quite a nice traveler! We then drove to Woodbury to visit Jamie's parents and grandparents who came up from Iowa earlier in the week. On Saturday, we shopped for maternity clothes for Jamie and when we got back, Grandpa Goecke talked us into going to the casino. It was a great weekend, and we were very happy to see our families.
Jamie's belly now measures 38" across. After the big meals this last week, Brian is happy we're not measuring his too. We have our ultrasound on Tuesday, so come back later this week when we have more pictures of the baby!

19 Weeks
Jamie is continuing to get bigger, 37.5" around her belly. Some of it might be from the turkey dinner though :)
Jamie's First Turkey
Jamie cooked her first turkey on Saturday. She has to give her husband some of the credit though, because she declined getting her hands dirty and pulling out the giblets. While Jamie was busy cooking dinner, Brian got out all of the Christmas decorations and started decorating the house. Dinner was great, and we have leftovers for a week!

17 Weeks
Jamie joined a Thomas family tradition by nearly fainting in church today. She felt dizzy and light-headed. She may have just wanted to skip the sermon, but she felt better after sitting down for a few minutes.
During our 16-week check-up this week, we reviewed the blood test results that showed everything to be normal. The baby's heartbeat was 150, and everything is still looking good! This week Jamie said that she now knows the difference between growing pains, gas, and the baby moving. She says she's starting to feel the baby move more and claims that the baby has big feet just like his/her father...
